Sutherland stars as Superchargers win Women's Hundred final

Australian Annabel Sutherland starred with both bat and ball as her team Northern Superchargers won their first women's title in English cricket's Hundred with a seven-wicket win over Southern Brave in Sunday's final at Lord's.

The 23-year-old pace bowler took 2-23 in her maximum 20 balls -- the same figures as England veteran Kate Cross.

Their returns helped restrict the Brave, who had made history in the 100 balls per side tournament by winning all eight of their group stage games, to 115-6.

Then, in front of a bumper crowd of 22,542 at the 'Home of Cricket, Sutherland's 28 not out helped put the result beyond doubt after the Superchargers had faltered at 59-3.

Sutherland shared an unbroken stand of 60 with compatriot Nicola Carey (35 not out) and ended the match in style thanks to a six down the ground as the Superchargers won with 12 balls to spare.

English teenager Davina Perrin, fresh from a superb 42 ball-century in the Superchargers' eliminator win over London Spirit at the Oval on Saturday, looked in good touch again before she fell to New Zealand great Sophie Devine for 17.
